Publisher's presentation : 1984. Thirteen-year-old Cleo, who lives a modest life in the Parisian suburbs between her parents, is offered a scholarship by a mysterious foundation to realize her dream of becoming a modern jazz dancer. But it is a trap, sexual, monetizable, which closes on her and in which she will involve other middle school girls.

2019. A file of photos is found on the net, the police launches a call for witnesses to those who have been victims of the Foundation.

After becoming a dancer, notably on Drucker's sets in the 1990s, Cleo understands that a past that does not pass has come back to get her, and that it is time to face her double burden of victim and culprit.

Chavirer follows the various stages of Cleo's fate through the eyes of those who knew her as her character diffracts and recomposes herself over and over again, like our mutating identities and the mysteries that govern them.

Revisiting the systems of predation in the light of the social and racial divide, Lola Lafon offers here an ardent meditation on the impasses of forgiveness, while paying homage to the world of popular variety, where smiles are contractual and false eyelashes obligatory, between eroticized bodies and suffering bodies, the magic of the stage and the backstage pain.
