Born in 1971 in Virginia, Patrick Ness is a British-American novelist. After studying English literature in the United States, he moved to London where he teaches, writes radio columns and literary criticism.
He specializes in children's literature and science fiction. He has received several literary awards and has been nominated four times for the prestigious Astrid Lindgren Memorial Prize. His series Chaos Walking has been adapted to film.
