Born in 1985, Maylis Adhémar is a French writer and journalist. She grew up in a traditionalist Catholic family. She first passed an agricultural baccalaureate with the idea of becoming a lumberjack, then turned to a master in history. She has traveled to Patagonia and China, where she taught French. She is the author of two novels, the first of which, Bénie soit Sixtine, has won several literary prizes: Prix A livre ou verre 2021, Prix des lecteurs de la Maison du livre 2021, Prix des lecteurs de Loudéac communauté 2021 and Prix littéraire Féminin Pluriel Montpellier Méditerranée 2021.
